 1.    I was really tired so I stayed at home.
2.      I didn’t phone you because I didn’t have your number.
3.      It was quite a good film but I didn’t like it/ but it was very long.
4.      Although my job isn’t very well-paid, I like it
5.      My father is French and my mother is Spanish so I have two nationalities.
6.      He was driving fast because he was in a hurry.
7.      I wanted to buy some bread but I didn’t have any money.
8.      Although my boss is very friendly, I need to change job.
9.      She wasn’t feeling well so she didn’t go to work.
10.   I couldn’t come to class last week because I couldn’t get there/ because I was ill.
11.   She likes him a lot but he’s married.
12.   We really like that restaurant although it’s very expensive.
13.   I wanted to improve my English so I went to England.
14.   I woke up in the middle of the night because I heard a noise in the street.
15.   We took out an umbrella but it wasn’t raining.
16.   Although we played very well we lost the game/ we didn’t win.
17.   The weather was very cold so I put on/took/got my coat.
18.   We couldn’t understand the man because he talked very fast.
19.   They’re poor but they are happy/went to university.
20.   Although it was a five-star hotel, it was very dirty.
